Time for a change

After much consideration, I’ve decided to make the change. Gonna keep it short here, but feel free to email me if you want to know more.

The time has come to hang up the headphones. Once I get through this last wedding season, I will be selling much of my equipment and giving up DJ’ing. Let’s face it, I’m getting old and now one wants an old, unhip with da music, guy DJ’ing their wedding.

As you know, I’ve been taking a liking to photography. So I’m going to start off photographing friends and family. (If you want a portrait, give me a call this year. My gift to you is your gift to me…practice.) And by all means, if you have anyone interested in some photography, please let me know!

Website coming soon! Thanks for your support!

Something I’m thinking about today…

I found this song in my collection earlier this month, and teared up a bit when I was listening to it at work. Especially meaningful since I have a friend in Baghdad this year. Here’s a video someone made to the song. It may be better to just listen to the words of it though.

Storm fallout

With Kelli and I both living in the newer part of town, but yet the most flood-prone part of town, I took a ride shortly after midnight to see the extent of the flooding after the third big storm today rolled through.  Every street I went down was flooded over the curb, and some I didn’t go down were well past the curb. but nowhere near the waist deep (on me!) river that went down Kelli’s street years ago.  But the people in this duplex down the street and around the corner from Kelli weren’t so fortunate.  Lucky for Kelli though that it wasn’t one of the three oak trees about this big within distance of her house.

This retention pond just down from Kelli’s house is at least 8 feet deep and the pic shows a little more than half of it.
